Mitochondrial communities are a source of strong anti-correlations. Mitochondrially-encoded and ribosomal protein gene communities were identified in all clusters. Anti-correlations identified specifically between mitochondrially-encoded genes and ribosomal protein genes within the different clusters are shown in A (cluster 1.1), B (cluster 1.2), C (cluster 2) and D (cluster 3).
